For those of us who find the Harry Potter series to be more than a coming-of-age tale set in the world of magic, there is a recent article in The Atlantic that discusses J. K. Rowling's treatment of politics, human rights, and the abuse of power. Many of the opinions which I have developed this past year while reading, re-reading, and re-reading this story yet again, appear in this article.
